Recently Gov. Andrew Cuomo released his budget for 2011-12. This is a reminder that Yonkers Mayor Philip Amicone and his staff have likely begun working on the city budget for the upcoming fiscal year as well.

YONKERS,NY, July 13, 2010 -- I have said time and again how the Yonkers Police Department is terribly understaffed. The 2010 budget included 641 police officers; a very low number compared to several cities our size. Now, due to severe budget cuts we are budgeted for a mere 587 officers, which in my opinion puts our city at risk.
