The Yonkers Police Benevolent Association brought summer cheer to the Yonkers Public Schools Extended School Year program on Thursday, August 6th, hosting a BBQ for students at School 29. Under clear skies and warm sunshine, officers and students shared a day filled with good food, laughter, and community connection.
The event featured classic BBQ favorites. Officers spent the afternoon grilling, serving meals, and engaging with students, many of whom were excited to meet local police in such a relaxed, friendly setting. Teachers and staff from the ESY program joined in as well, creating a festive atmosphere that blended school spirit with community support.
This BBQ continues the Yonkers PBA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships with young residents and supporting Yonkers Public Schools programs. For many students, the day offered a memorable highlight of their summer learning experience.
