The Yonkers Police Benevolent Association continued its tradition of community connection on Wednesday, August 5th, hosting a joyful BBQ for Yonkers Public Schools Extended School Year students at YMA. The day was filled with sunshine, smiles, and a warm welcome that made the event truly special.
Students and YPS staff greeted PBA members with thoughtful artwork, handwritten thank‑yous, and colorful displays created just for the occasion. Their enthusiasm set the tone for a day centered on appreciation, togetherness, and the strong bond between Yonkers officers and the young people they serve.
Officers spent the afternoon grilling, serving food, and sharing conversations with students and staff. The BBQ offered a relaxed, fun environment where everyone could enjoy good food and great company while celebrating the ESY program’s hard work and dedication.
The Yonkers PBA expressed how grateful they are to host these BBQs each summer, emphasizing their commitment to supporting Yonkers families, schools, and neighborhoods. Moments like these highlight the power of community and the joy that comes from showing up for one another.
